Monday can be a great day

Drive away the Monday blues.

“It’s another manic monday” or “I don’t like Mondays” or “Monday, Monday, can’t trust that day.” Those are some pop lyrics conveying some sentiment Americans can have for Mondays. Is it true. Unfortunately, studies say ‘yes’.

But why? A big part of the problem psychologists say is that many Americans hate their job. So, Monday is the reality check reminding you to get back to the place you don’t like and that you have five more days until you can leave that place. So what to do?

How bout those who love Mondays. Experts who study this phenomena say those who do like Mondays are usually the ladder climbing, go-getters or, maybe, just have a good outlook on life.

Ashley Blair, a psychotherapist of Counseling Services in Bryn Mawr, Pa., says Monday has a bad rap and a bad reputation because we make too much out of it. Monday’s are just another day to make the most out of it. One more day to be a greater person for a greater world so here’s some tips to always remember whether it’s Monday or Friday.

Try mindfulness. In it’s most simplified explanation, mindfulness means living fully in that moment and appreciating it.

The best utilization of mindfulness is to pay attention to your thoughts. If a negative or depressing thought pops up, be mindful and catch it then take that opportunity for a positive thought or a counter thought that has a positive perspective.

Another tactic but in the same strategy is to think about a great moment or feeling and hold on to it as a continuing thought and rely on it through the day. Hell, rely on it through the week, the month, the year, etc.

So “Come Monday, it’s going to be all right”.

Just another B>U Lifestyle tip.
